Before the days of the Lottery....The Pools

Blast from the past! I feel old now! I did the pools back in the 80s but never won owt. Then on a Saturday night a bloke came round the working men's club selling The Green Un, was a fantastic paper with all the footy results etc in it. Those were the days
I remember the green un well, used to get it for the local bristol rugby news

When I started my first job they did a bonus ball thing, where everyone put in £1 and got assigned a number, and if the lotterys bonus ball was your number then you collected the pot. I won the pot on my first week and it had also rolled over, it was a small office and I think people were genuinely miffed that I'd won on my first week working there

Aye, the taste of lead in the air and concrete floored playgrounds. I'm amazed any of us survived :D
Concrete floors, you posh bugger, we had ground glass :). I do feel guilty now though cos apparently playing out, enjoying yourself, keeping fit and working hard has damaged later generations.
