Begginer in OC needs some help

Hello my vga is a xfx 6600gt.
The stock speeds are 551/1052.
IDLE TEMP:50 C
FULL LOAD:77 C
I have overclocked it a bit at 561/1161 and now on heavy duty
i come up with 80 C.Is this safe.I use the stock cooling.

I would say that 80c is a bit high, infact 77c full load when at stock was a bit high, your vents on the pc arent clogged are they? de-dusting your pc makes a lot of difference regarding temp so can you de-dust it?

If it is dusty then hell yeah - the dust restricts the air flow.

Hey do you know a program except riva tuner to overclock?I want one to detect the maximum and safe setting for OC,automatically.Always using the stock cooling.

coolbits if you use nvidia - and no overclocking is safe - it is a risky business....
