Beginner used car advice help

Had a look at some insurance policies and looking at around £590.

What do people make of this advert Saab 9-3 Estate ?

Did you find anything in the end?

Saab is a good option, I doubt you even need to go that much over budget as well.

I'd try and negotiate one of these down to around £4k.

Both look mint.

my current car (although trying to sell it as we no longer need 2 cars and she wont drive it as its too big :() is a 2001 2.0 petrol modeo estate that i purchased for £500 with 12 months MOT from a mechanic, it was filthy inside but looks nice now ive give it a good clean and its not much of a looker but it starts every time, drives very nice on a long journey and its massive.

you will be surprised what you can get for your budget but be realistic in what your looking for, Volvo, Toyota etc... might have a good reliability but for any car with 150k+ on the clock that means nothing, you want somthing thats either cheap to fix or easy to sell if somthing big goes wrong, MOT's mean very little but getting one with a long one (or even a full one) atleast shows that it has had some sort of recent mechanical check. also get a car with decent tyres as its no good getting a car for £1000 then needing to spend £400 on new tyres in 2 months.

Personally id buy a 2001 mondeo estate with an MOT until March ;) - contact for details :p

I do see where you're are coming from. That's why I can decide between a cheap car or something a little more refined and enjoyable to be in.

If you could send us some pictures and more details about the car that would be appreciated? I may well be interested. You're not to far from me if 'best Hull' is where you live?
