Hey all,

Any NHL fanatics around? :p

I've always had an interest in NHL, and I sort of know the rules...

I'm hoping to be in Canada sometime next year, and would love to catch a few games - So before I go, I'd like to get into it a little more and actually learn the rules and watch some games etc.

So I was wondering if anyone had a basic guide to NHL and its rules, where a newbie can start off and get into it a bit :)

I also have no idea with regards to leagues and when they play and when they don't - Is it a bit like the Premiership (football)?

Thanks,

Marky

Srs answer - got console/PC? Get one of the NHL games and play it! It'll walk you through all the rules from basics to icing/offsides etc :)

And go Kings :p

Can anyone tell me when the main league starts and finishes?

The regular season is 82 games long, usually starts in October and finishes in April. I spent a year as an exchange student in Calgary, Alberta and there was literally **** all to do apart from hang out at the sports bar and watch haackey :D
