i just tried the autorun thing myself, created a folder, copied the autorun file into it and removed some text to do with an icon file, and change the open to notepad.exe and nothing happened when i open the folder. and yes, autorun is enabled on my machine as the cd i got the file from auto runs.
What an idiot I now feel. I have just tried playing around with this myself too, and clearly Microsoft have realised how dangerous this "feature" was and removed it.

About three years ago this was working well on Windows XP. Any folder setup with an autorun.inf would launch the relevant program. This is when I found a hacked PC with the SharedDocs and all admin shares poluted with an autorun.inf. Then everytime these folders were opened, the virus would launch.

Tried it here on local folders, and network shares - all ignored. Only works on flash drives and CD/DVD now.

Glad to say that Microsoft has fixed that bug. So sorry Rakkoon - I have been sending ya on a merry dance. :)

Obvious answer would be powerline plugs. It was given excellent rating by computer magazines.

Then you won't have to deal with the complications of wireless security & not knowing whether he has cracked your wireless security or not! :p

Or
Ditch the Missus and just use wireless :D

Hmm.... Most sensible answer so far...

Yeah, as I said...

WPA has kept him off... Thats job done.

I have at this time just disabled Wireless, but a few times now, I have needed it back on for LapTops so a permanent no-wireless option is not really one I can go with.

How old is the guy? Piggy-backing someone's wireless is one thing but doing it just for the sake of it and leaving cheesy hacker messages is so lame. :/
