Right, so given that I know I can access his Shared folder, how can I get to his root?
I was totally serious about the autorun.inf method. This needs him to look in the folder once - and then it triggers the code you have copied in. You can then do ANYTHING you like.

Try it out in a folder on your own PC. With a harmless program like Notepad.exe

Wouldn't take much to add in .reg files to the startup part of the registry this way, and then start launching bigger and fatter programs. Or just link to an infected site. (I have afew URLs that may help... email me) Also note - when this autorun.inf is run, it will run with HIS admin privalages...

Currently you are connecting to his PC as a "guest", which is why you don't have rights to get into his Admin shares (the C$ stuff). But with a few tricks in a batch file, you should be able to increase your rights.

Ah, I see what you mean...

But, with the shared folder being shared, it would only be able to get really nasty, if he was logged in as admin... If he was logged in as a user, then it would still be useless.

I suppose however, if he is messing about hacking into my system, then he woukld have to be admin though???

Ok, sod it... I will have a play tonight.

The autorun idea is somethign im ok with on CDs... Never thought it could work on folders too??? Sweet then... Batch file destroyers coming up... Make sure I got plenty of VMs setup first eh?

Cheers dude.

Will update you as and when... Like I said though... I doubt he has touched the shared folder at all given that my junk is still in there...

Time will tell...

I feel like even droping a note in his door ( once the files are setup ) asking him to have a look in there.... I just might have to do that if I get somethign really nasty going on!!!

hehehehhehehe ( walks away rubbing hands - evil scientist style )

I got the Autorun.inf idea from an infection I cleared. Someone had done a manual hack into a company by copying two little files into EVERY shared folder. This was a small "virus" and an autorun.inf to trigger it. It then launched everytime the folder was open.... comically simple, but efficient. :D

Down side - well, he could have autoplay turned off, but that is rare.

If he is connecting to your wifi network, then he must have admin rights to add the wifi connection. :D

You have secured your wifi network but now seem to be hell bent on revenge which tbh makes you no better than him!!

Put the WPA encryption back on and forget about it

I wouldnt say hell bent, but certainly want to make him know how I feel yes.

After all, since I found him out, he has openly boasted that he knows he has my by the short & curlies and that at any moment, he can wreck my PC... In fact I think the only reason that he has not, is because he is getting free internet from me.

Actually, WPA has kept him out for a few days now... He only gets on once I switch WPA off, so I now know that the only real option is WPA.

Ok, Wireless is currently turned off

Why turn wireless off if WPA is keeping him out? Don't see why you should be deprived of wireless because some amateur is hacking WEP, not hard is it!? Just change the key every week or so, make sure it's stupidly long key too!

can't you just get a router that allows you to lower the radius of the wireless signal ? that way you can just make it so old the rooms in your house can pick it up regardless of encryption.

Because I only have one PC thats using it... The Missus' in the bedroom.

All my others are on Ethernet.

I can turn it back on if I need to, but at this time, I dont really need it.

i just tried the autorun thing myself, created a folder, copied the autorun file into it and removed some text to do with an icon file, and change the open to notepad.exe and nothing happened when i open the folder. and yes, autorun is enabled on my machine as the cd i got the file from auto runs.
