Being: Liverpool - Tv Documentary

After the problems we had last season and the negative press we received this was never going to be the hard hitting documentary it was originally painted out to be.

Edit: What this really needs is a bit of controversy. Perhaps a clip or two of some players getting jabbed with needles on the medical table before running around like maniacs to the Rocky music.

The QPR doc last season beats anything. Thank god this is far more controlled though and we're not owned by nutcases.
That wasn't really a documentary either. That was more like the Sopranos does football :D

Whatever it was, it was far more entertaining than this.

Other than a few clips around Rodgers & the players homes (which I can't say I'm that interested in), there's nothing that the club doesn't already show on the website or its tv channel.

Brendan Rodgers has the least attractive wife I have ever seen and the most ridiculous house! Other than that, very dull tv programme

That was a brilliant couple of hours of my life! Fascinated to see what a mad house QPR is...

When I saw this on the schedule yesterday I did immediately think "how much did LFC pay to get this on prime time tv" lol

This wasnt meant as against LFC specifically more about being cynical about brand advertising in general these days.

I know this is just the 1st ep, Im wondering if there is going to be (for instance) a team talk from (for eg) the L v MU match in a later episode (just because that should illicit higher passion as well as thoughtfulness regarding recent events)

From a TV perspective its certainly possible - but Im not so sure the club would (could be done well to respect the events, but it could also go the other way)

This was like a paradox to me, I wanted to watch it for the football history etc but didn't want to sit through an hour of Scousers going on about Liverpool. :p

All the episodes were filmed during pre season and the run up to the EPL starting. The episodes have already been filmed so no, there won't be that.

Ch5 paid LFC 100k for it actually

I'm not sure it's that straight forward. Fox Soccer made the series - I'm not sure how the money is distributed between Liverpool and Fox though.

It does cover the opening couple of games of the season too. IINM filming ended after the City match.

Just watched the 2nd episode. A little bit more interesting than the first but nothing earth shattering.

There is a brief chat between Shelvey and Rodgers that's quite fitting considering the events of yesterdays match though.

I enjoyed the first episode, can't wait to watch the other episodes.

I found it funny how Adam looked totally uncomfortable when being asked about playing cricket.

Watched episode 3 last night. Still nothing controversial but it was a bit more interesting than the first two. You get to see a bit more stuff behind the scenes at Melwood rather than just players/Rodgers homes.

Interesting that Rodgers identified Shelvey as the player he wanted to play ahead of Lucas and Allen in midfield this season.

Also interesting to read it was the owners who blocked the move for Demspey and not Rodgers or Ayre. Wonder if that'll be shown in the last episode?

Only thing I found interesting this week is how many scousers got subtitles. Lived in NI for years and am convinced Liverpool has the same thing as Belfast where everyone from there is trying to put on the most "from there" accent, a city of one upping in the accent front. Oddly Rodgers doesn't get subtitles either!

That and Rodgers is quickly coming across as more and more cluesless, seems like no one really listens to what he has to say.

A number of players have commented about how the training sessions have been great fun and how much they learning from Rodgers so far. We're struggling to score but we're making a noticeable improvement game by game.

That's just worrying, but like when Zola was in charge at West Ham and they said the same thing about him except he still was the best player on the field at 42...

I liked Rodgers before I watched being liverpool as well, thought he was doing a good job at Swansea, now he just seems silly.
