Belgium Grand Prix 2011, Spa Circuit - Race 12/19

Its been farrrrrrrrrr too long getting here, Ive been dying for this race weekend for what seems like years lol

Interesting to hear about this McLaren rumour, really hoping its true

Im also hoping the stewards continue to be strong on anyone going wide around the 1st corner (and off the track) in the hope of benefitting at the very start of the race.

I won't be here for the race, I shall be in Cyprus, although I am determined to do my best to find a bar to watch it in.

Have fun everyone, so glad its back after this break, its been too long. :)

I just hope JB and LH make it round to our corner this time on race day :D

This.

I think betting on a McLaren winning isn't a bad shout. I'd also love to see Force India do well again here, with Di Resta up high.

Also, even though I'm not really a fan of him, it would be good to see Schumacher do well in his 20th anniversary race.

Infact, sod it, anyone other than Vettel or Alonso doing well and I will be happy :)

ze germans has been und kerpen
LeeMcKenzieF1: At Kerpen with Schumacher and Vettel and 2000 fans! Just a quiet day out! They kart against each other in less than an hour
LeeMcKenzieF1: Perfect! Fun kart race on and the rain falls. Schumi overtakes Vettel. Ralf Schu in race too!
LeeMcKenzieF1: Michael Schumacher leads the field home in the 8 kart race!

wierd seeing vettel etc speaking in their native tongue

can not wait for this, best race of the season by far.

DRS seems a bit fail to me, nice slipstream up to it then the wing advantage will see cars pass like Turkey.

I really hope this isn't the case, although I fear it may be.

Off to bed shortly for an early start to head over to Spa :)

Been looking forward to this all year!

Why the :( ?

Because i have put my shift for 10-3 and will not be able to watch it till Sunday morning. Well depending on how bad my hangover is.

Thought it was next week it started. Hate knowing motorsport forum is going mental whilst it is live and im stuck at work :(

O and it will be impossible to not find out the results as i seem to be the only F1 fanboy in Chesterfield, so everyone feels the need to tel me the results they have heard on the radio ect ect.... Hate knowing the results with out watching it lol....

Skeeter what corner would you reccomend to watch the race? First time going and im still not sure

Lucky to catch me this morning. They are all great.

If your going Friday, walk the whole circuit and pick out a spot you like.

If your only going race day, then Les Combes is good, but the best viewing is not avaialble as there is an access road. The inside of Rivage is slow and you are really close to the cars. Then on the outside of the corner after Rivage (cant remember what its called) has a great view all the way from Rivage down to Pouhon. There is a massive bank on the outside of Pouhon thats always popular. Then the rest of the track doesn't have many high banks other than on the outside of the bus stop.

Right, well I will be leaving in a second! I have taken a Sharpie with me, any OcUK'ers who spot me (and my flag) give us a shout and sign the flag. We can see how many names we get :)

See you all their, or on the tele! :)

Classic F1 this week is Perez :D http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/andrewbenson/2011/08/sergio_perez_-_classic_f1.html

Got all dreamy about the 90's races with the 98 Jordan 1-2 (I went swimming during the first attempt at getting it to go so didn't see one of the long sit about and watch everyone clear it up moments).

Anyway was convinced there was another week in the summer break so I'm missing the race too :( (traveling to see relatives on the sunday). Just hope its wet or good to make my monday evening that bit better!

Loved that classic F1 race from 1998, I remember being on holiday watching that.

I have always been an F1 fan but this season has been thrilling. Whereas before I may not watch the race live and watch the highlights, I'll now plan my day around the race. I can't wait for Sunday, especially after seeing and hearing the Lotus at WSR on Sunday :D
