Ouch for Lewis. Did having the DRS deployed hinder Lewis there rather than help him? Surely it'd make sense for the DRS system to detect when the car behind is within in a second and can use DRS then overtakes the car and disables the DRS? Why let someone use DRS when they've already overtaken the car they were going to use DRS on. It might prevent accidents like that.

Hmm just saw the replay. Looks like his rear wing closed up just before the impact so perhaps no effect from DRS then.

His hands did not move for a while during the crash and when car was stopped do u think H was KO for a bit ?

No. They let go of the wheel to avoid the risk of breaking fingers or wrists. They're pretty much a passenger as soon as the suspension breaks.

Interesting to see how Vettel does with the harder tyre later on. Clearly he can only keep his softs for 10 laps or so and this is the last set.
