I am in the market for a TFT and I am looking at the two in the title because of their price. They seem to be the most inexpensive in their class. I would be interested to know which one people would prefer and for what reasons.

My decision will ultimately be based on performance, looks/build quality and other users advice. It will be used for a bit of everything; gaming, multimedia applications, internet, office applications.

Advice is greatly appreciated.

I recently bought a vx2025. I was in the same position as you but after reading about a lot of people having terrible backlight bleed with the belinea I went with the viewsonic. The viewsonic I have has 0 dead/faulty pixels and only very minor bleed, I'm convinced I made the right choice.

I have the belinea. I bought it ages before the viewsonic came out and i'm very happy with it. However out of the two i would advise you to get the Viewsonic. The Belinea has a big annoying blue button on the front of it and ugly speakers.

I advised my flatmate to get the viewsonic for these reason. On comparing the two, they both had a little backlight bleed. The Viewsonic looks better straight out of the box with out editing the brightness, contrast and colour level options

They both look a little grainy when watching dvds but if you lower the gamma and make the movie darker then it looks fine (I do this in my ati card settings).

both models are based on the same 8ms AU Optronics P-MVA panel so performance is quite comparbale. However, the Viewsonic has better colour accuracy out of the box, and arguably a better build quality and design.

Thanks guys. I have seen the belinea up close and I quite like how it looks. The viewsonic also looks nice but I haven't seen it in the flesh so I am going by the picture on Overclockers (haven't bothered looking it up elsewhere yet). GhostRider or W3bbo, any chance of some pics?

I am upgrading from a 6 year old CRT so I think whichever one I go for is going to look great in comparison and it will be nice to finally be able to push my desk flush against the wall!

Does the Viewsonic have that shiny reflective surface that you see on some of the new laptops these days. It's something that I wouldn't want.

The NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" looks good and gets great reviews but its another £100+. One thing about the belinea that bothered me slightly when I saw my friends was that it didn't look very easy to get the DVI cable in and once it was in, it looked kind of skewed with pressure being put on it slightly.

Do both these monitors come with DVI cables?

I have just purchased the Viewsonic VX2025 and it should be winging its way to my house shortly (went for the Saturday next day delivery option). I decided on the Viewsonic over the Belinea because of what users have said in this thread and from a looks and build quality stand point. I am rather loath to parting with money and I have ooohed and ahhhed about getting a new monitor for months now so fingers crossed that I have made the right decision. I will try and post some pics when it arrives.

Incidently I also ordered a new mouse (logitech G7) and keyboard (Saitek PZ30AU), a 500gb western digital external hard drive and two Icy Box External HDD Enclosure's. In the end the order came to £672.87 delivered

Thank you for everyones advice with the monitors, it is greatly appreciated.

My new Viewsonic VX2025

My new monitor arrived Saturday morning as promised. I ordered it on Friday and am very happy with the service from Overclockers, exactly as it should be.

I have been using the monitor for 4 days now and I am very happy with it. I haven't made any adjustments to the settings apart from turning the brightness down slightly. There are no dead pixels from what I can see. The backlight bleed is there in the corners but is only on noticeable on black screens if you look hard. I think I have noticed some verticle banding on some colours but again it's hardly noticeable. I love how the monitor looks and the cable management design at the back is really good. Have tried out a few games and different applications and the extra space that the widescreen offers is proving to be very handy, I definately prefer the widescreens now and wouldn't go back. Using a TFT definately feels different to using a CRT but I am already getting used to it.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase and I would recomend this same monitor to others, its an absolute bargain for the price. Here are a few pictures...

Now we need some good pics of the belnea to run against it. :D Ill see what I can come up with at some point. For all intents and purposes, there exactly the ame monitor , just a different case.

I remember that review site, seems to have been updated though since last time i looked. Still even there the belinea comes out tops as neither monitors come out as perfect colour reproduction, just the viewsonic has slightly better colour adjustment (not that anyone ould know without special equipment). So i guess it is still about the case and a slight colour difference and if your willing to pay the few quid extra for that colour difference.

As usual, reviews talk about how good these monitors are properly calibrated, but dont mention what those calibrated settings are :/.

Im happy with monitor defaults and have installed the belinea color profile from the belinea website and printing from photoshop is pretty much spot on with whats on the screen.

BeHardware have stated that the Viewsonic is better out of the box in terms of colour accuracy when compared with the Belinea, and they have taken more time to do factory calibration. Add to this Viewsonic's arguably better ClearMotiv electronics and the Viewsonic arguably has the edge. The Belinea does use the same P-MVA panel from AU Optronics, but Viewsonic have taken a little more time with electronics and pre-purchase config

I have the belinea monitor and i think its top draw!
No dead pixels and its class for PC and XBOX 360 use as well :p
Im very happy with mine! :D

I have the Belinea.

Its a great monitor but i bought it before the Viewsonic was out. I think i would buy the viewsonic if i had the choice between the two.

*note* - I have no problems with my Belinea i just think the Viewsonic looks better.
