Hi guys.

I upgraded to Windows 7 last night, and have found it much better compared to my previous Vista install.

I was, however, having issues getting drivers for my Belkin Wireless G Desktop card (3000uk version). Belkin do not offer drivers for this card on ANY 64bit os, and not beyond vista at all.

So, i did some digging, and managed to find that the chipset was actually Ralink based. Some further digging, and a bit of guesswork pointed me to trying a driver for a Ralink RT2500 card (with win7 64bit support) which installed without issue, and allowed me to assign the driver to the Belkin card.

This then worked perfectly!!

Brilliant. Great work on Ralink to keep driver support going on for so much longer than the other manufacturers. I also hope this might save some of you from having to go buy new cards to support win7 if and when you update.

Find out who makes the chipset, and then search for drivers from that manufacturer. Usually a bit of guesswork is needed, but you might be able to save yourself some dosh!

I remember having to do this with Vista 64 and a belkin adaptor. Just another reason why they are so rubbish.

I managed to get the belkin vista 64 drivers to work on win 7 after a bit of messing about but its good to know there's a proper alternative!

http://www.station-drivers.com is one of the best places to look for the latest driver for things. I'm afraid all the major players are pretty bad for driver support. I upgraded to windows 7 and had to change my Netgear card for another as netgear had no 64bit drivers. As far as I can tell, the chipset makers (Ralink, realtek, etc) write the drivers, then most network card makers just rename them for their card, certainly in Netgear's case they seem to be waiting for the chipset maker to support 64bit, whilst telling people that they are "working on a 64bit driver release ASAP".
End rant.

I used to have this exact same card. When I upgraded to 7 64bit I just couldn't be arsed with going through all the hassle with drivers again so I bought an Edimax N PCI card. 7 just installed it straight away. Didn't need to download anything.

I've just run into this problem and I can't seem to find a working driver download for the Ralink RT2500 64bit.

Anyone have the driver or a link to it? Don't want to buy a new card :(
