Hey all, I'm currently running a wireless network with a few problems on this pc. It keeps disconnecting despite an excellent signal then not being able to find the network again until the pc is rebooted.

Now I've spoken to Belkin and they've agreed that it's an issue with the card not anything else and they have assured me they'll send a replacement through.

I am stuck with this card for a few days at least though so i was wondering if someone could do me a quick favour, i noticed that while the card does still disconnect frequently if i used the windows 'repair connection' feature it disabled the card then reenabled it thus allowing me to continue with no need for a reboot. Did this a few times and it worked fine for me however the last few times I've done it it has got stuck on the disabling network card bit and not progressed further (not frozen up shows as still working just never completes).
I can't disable the card through other means either. (Going to my network places etc).

Does anyone have any idea how i can rectify this just to make the next few days a bit easier?

similar unreliability and inability to repair has happened to me recently using linksys wireless card I suspect a windows update or other software but it has cleared up for the moment and I have not confirmed the cause.

If you have tried the latest belkin driver the only thing left to try is using the XP wireless conenction wizard or the belkin software to manage the connection , whichever one does not work try the other.

This is going to be a bit of a pointless thing,

But i had the same problem as you had. Google Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver. I think i got mine off a compaq site. I get no dropouts at all now.
