Bending bodywork

They've agreed to pay for a new door :)
In what way have they agreed? They given you a lump sum and told you to go away or do they want quotes before you do the work or will they just pay any invoice you send in?

Good result anyway though. Just be careful not to get shafted before you've got the repair done and the money in your pocket.

I found a door in better condition than mine was before the crash for £35 on eBay, so I told him I'd take £50 cash and I wouldn't go any further with it. It is a 10 year old car with plenty of scuffs/dents anyway so I don't need perfection.

Anyway I've just been hitting it with some body work hammers and it doesn't look too bad :D so I might just spend the cash on something else

The van driver must have breathed a sigh of relief! Plenty of people would have demanded a new door etc...

very reasonable of you :)

I'm a firm believer in karma when it comes to this sort of thing - always been generous to people that have hit me and let them choose whether to go through insurance or not etc..

And then sure enough had a little ding in a car park, literally just scuffed the paintwork a bit, and the woman said not to worry about it and drove off and heard no more about it.

What goes around ... comes around.
