Benq driver?

Evening all.

I've just received my new monitor, a nice shiny BenQ G2420HDBL.

I went to install the drivers that came on the CD but there is a slight problem, it seems my dvd drive is broken :(

This leads me to two questions:

1. How important are the drivers? At the minute the monitor has a generic plug and play driver. It's displaying at the right resolution and it looks very nice. Just wondering if having the right driver will make much of a difference?

2. If the answer to the above is yes, anyone know where I can download the driver so I have some time to fix my dvd drive? I've looked on the BenQ website but this specific model doesn't have a driver available. Other monitors do, e.g. the G2220HD, but I imagine this driver will be different???

Thanks for any help.

There's no such thing as a monitor driver really. There's a Colorsync profile if colour matching is important (ie graphics design), otherwise the graphics card and DDC sort the rest out themselves.
