Hi all, mates got a few questions on this monitor, so i thought id pass them onto you guys in the know as you'll be able to help better than me.

Can anyone tell me what’s this monitor like with displaying text in small sizes?, is it anything like the NEC 20WGX if not better? Is important as I program and do plenty of web reading.

I have seen the dell and text in that looks all blurred up and not sharp at all.

How doe it perform in games, in particular FEAR and AOE 3, not really bothered about movies and things but is it ok with that too.

What’s the build quality like is it flimsy and cheap, like the Phillips ?

I know about the 1:1 pixel mapping issue, I seen it some where that will be done soon anyone know if a new batch has the fix and what too look out for and is benq going to arrange replacement for the ones that doesn’t have the fix.

Also is the screen glossy.

Thanks. :)

The pixel pitch is slightly larger than a 20"WS model, but is a nice size really. I've seen no issues reported with text blur or image clarity on the FP241W

Could well have been an early 2007WFP model where there was a known issue with text blur. see here

gaming is reportedly very good, it offers decent responsiveness. May be even worth considering the BFI edition, the FP241WZ if gaming is important as that can help reduce perceived motion blur a fair amount.

from what i've heard, it's good. see reviews and user comments here :)

no new UK batch with the fix yet, but some US users have started to receive the new firmware now. Can;t be long. Should be covered if you send it to the local BenQ service centre for them to change it (if you really need to do so)

no :)

I think it's weird with tfts where if you run them at their native res the text size always looks the same no matter what size the screen is, my dell 2407 at 1920x1200 has the exact same text size as my 17" sony at 1280x1024, with crts the text seems to get smaller but I might be mad!

On my Dell the image is very sharp and text is very clear

thats because the pixel pitch is almost identical. 0.264 (17") vs 0.270 (24"). 19" and 22" models have bigger text though
