Hi guys bought a asus rampage 5 today and while me brother in-law was building me pc he bent the socket pins is there anyway the board could be fixed. Am gutted thanks for any help

If your very careful and have some time you can try to bend them back, otherwise it is a new motherboard.

Good torch, magnifying glass and summet to bend the pin back with.

I have heard of ball point pen body's been used but all I have used is a toothpic.

How many pins are we talking about ?

The odd one or three yes, a lot ? Could be game over.

20 pins, heck what happened there ?

Well you have nowt to loose I'd say. You leave the pins the board is dead.
You try to straighten them all but fail the board is dead.

But take your time, do two or three a day so you dont get bored or ****ed off till all the pins are as straight as poss you just may manage to mend it.

No other way. Or if you know a friendly jeweler let them have a go. Some are used to working with small precision parts.

he caught the pins with the socket protection cap believe me mate i am gutted looks like ill keep it to just look at lol back to overclockers 2morrow :(

you have a pic of the damage? 20 pins is a lot but depends how bad they are

you'll be out of luck with an rma to asus aswell, lets hope the retailer will honour it

When I bent a few pins on my Z77 board I contacted Gigabyte and the arranged to collect it for free, repair the board and then ship it back out to me for no charge. I can't say that would apply for every situation but it just gave me another reminder as to why I prefer to deal with Gigabyte. Having a UK returns dept. is useful.

I don't tend to buy Asus stuff but have you tried contacting them...? Not sure if they will be as helpful, or UK based, but worth a shot.
