Yes I agree, but I'm an oldie as well... in fact I knew him, I was his paperboy and had many a good discussion with him... unfortunately he died when the motor industry was in it's youth and we will never know what may have happened...

Dont get me wrong, if i had my way the last rendition of an Arnage would have the W12 engine and 4 wheel drive then that would be me, car for life. Or better still a Brooklands with that engine and running gear, what a car that would be.

Not getting you wrong... I take your point, I think back and just wish I could have seen what could have been. although I think the designs have been good, I would love to own a gt... drool!

That thing will sell and sell. The market is crying out for a seriously high-end SUV (i.e. above Range Rover and the like). There's a decent number of folk out there (relatively speaking) who want to / are able to spend c£150k-£200k on a car (or more) and would prefer an SUV (space, view of the road etc) and there isnt really anything for them to buy. It's one of the reasons the Range Rover is being continually pushed up market more and more.

Oh I love the Brooklands, I drove one of those a few years ago actually, what a car. Ok so it was like a refined truck to drive ...well not so much drive as navigate ...but what a car :)

Well they all sold their MX5's to OcUK so I guess they must be in something else :p

I did actually toy with the idea of buying an MX5 rather than the much more sensible Volvo ...for about 10 minutes. It'd never work though, I'd keep having to borrow another car to move stuff and they don't have cruise control and rev too high on the motorway.

Like I said, it's not going to end up looking like that. that is almost certainly one of those rubbish press mock ups where they got the tea boy to Photoshop. a gt front to another car.

as for the idea, if it sales where is the harm? people like to moan about the not being a proper bentley but the simple fact is that they are about a million times more suscessful than what came before. you can only sell outdated tech in six figure cars for only so long. it happened to Bristol and could have easily happened to Bentley years ago.

Quite honestly I think a lot of the tech in the Flying Spur and by association I guess the Continental is out of date now ...unless they have updated it since 2007. The computer system is an old one from a Phaeton and it doesn't have a lot of cool things like radar guided cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, fully integrated disk based entertainment system ...etc. There is some nice stuff on less expensive cars that the Bentley doesn't do ...or didn't at least.

They have updated the infotainment on the new model, but even with the old screen with no touch just buttons at the side, you dont drive the screen, you drive the car, less expensive cars just aint on the same page for the drive and ambiance are they.

11 my cars have the new system but that itself did. not add loads of features. at the end of the day just how many of those features are people actually going to miss?

This story has been around for years. I remember looking and back in 2005/2006.
Now I took time to actually read the title it's official. Still looks like they are using the same artist image though! :P
