My guess with zero research is £60-65k.

I would say that too, but that doesn't seem 'cheap' to me. I reckon Mark will get it for less.

Never been a huge fan of the new Bentleys, but after seeing one in Doomsday -poor film, nice lead ;) - I quite like it.

Good luck.

I have always found that people are often not a fan of things which they have not experienced first hand, or are unfamiliar with. The number of times i hear that people are not a fan of Bentley's, or other high end metal, only to find them thinking they are incredible when they get a chance to ride in one or get close to one.

I completely agree. Having only been in the Arnage and Brooklands, I think I took a dislike to the GT because I saw it as a VAG hiding under a fancy body, or a status symbol for the nouveau riche. Not very fair I guess, but sometimes you still unconsciously pigeon hole something without actually having a look for yourself :o

Obviously DiamondMark can tackle head-on such poor misconceptions when he offers to take us all our for a spin :D

The car drives superb, its in for a service, wheel alignment and general fettle.

I got it low 50s for those nosey :)

Sod Porsches, this is the way forward :)

Seems like rather a lot of car for the price!

Boring silver, but I think I could live with it if it was a good deal ;)

as for the VW/Audi tie in, when the new ones come in they have VW/Audi.....and.........Skoda stickers on the driveshafts! Amusing fail.

Are you really that surprised? It is thoroughly VAG car, but that doesn't mean that it is any less special, or just an over priced Phaeton in a posh flock with two turbochargers bolted onto the side. A car is nearly always more than the total sum of it's parts, and a GT is absoultely no different... I've heard people moan on about how the Arnage is the last "true" Bentley... these people seemingly don't realize that the BMW roundel is stamped all over the place :D To this day genuine Pollen filters for Arnage cars that come Bentley boxes have the roundel on them!

They go through ignition coils fairly often,

Very rarely? And most of the time that is on the older coils anyway (There has been about a million revisions). There is a coil recall/service campaign that MAY affect a 56/07 car (Although most probably not, but it's definitely worth checking anyway).

DiamondMark, I'm sure you do not really need to be told this, but get an approved warranty. No really, Now. I am not saying that it is going to be an unreliable wreck that is going to cost you millions to run, but having seen the parts prices for when things do go wrong, I couldn't recommend someone chancing it. I don't know what the ins and outs are like for Approved warranty on the customer side, but from what I've seen they are pretty good!

Has it been on a conditioner while sat at the dealer? I am not sure if you're aware, but they do not like to be laid up for long periods of time, and flat batteries usually cause an awful lot to go wrong thanks to the wonders of intervention load management. If it has been sitting for a while it could almost certainly could do with an overnight charge on the left hand side/main battery (Sorry if It sounds like I'm teaching you to suck eggs, not sure if you knew which battery was which). If it has been a really, really long time, some stuff like the seat memories might not work, and those (as far as I'm aware) need plugging into a VAS to sort. If the one touch closing doesn't work or there is a horrible thud open the rear windows, they aren't initialized. Luckily, you can do these at home by closing the windows, and then holding the driver's switch up for a few seconds, then doing the same for the driver's rear window, then then passenger's front, then the passenger's rear. That SHOULD sort the issue.

Just Use it. Lots. If not, stick on a conditioner if you're leaving it for more than a week (This might seem poor, but loads of systems stay active/intermittently perform checks well after the ignition has been switched off).

Any questions you think I'll be able to answer be sure to ask. If I can't answer them, I probably know someone who can!

Enjoy her! :)

Lovely mate, absolutely stunning :) Not to everybody's taste, but to most naysayers it takes first hand experience to appreciate them.

That's all good advice Joshy cheers, the warranty i will attempt to sort out when i go to see them where its in for the service next week.

I know about the battery as my partner has one, although his is older ... smirk ;)

Got to get a decent plate now, and a Range Rover on the cheap :)

That car looks excellent, and I'm sure it drives brilliantly. Why were the wheels not alligned in the first place? You did buy it for £50k afterall. Are you going to get it detailed? If so, by yourself or professionally? What kind of things do you have planned for it?

Oh and the obligitory "should have bought a Mondeo or 330i instead!" :p :D

At that price it was sold as seen pretty much.

It does have perfect service history, but i like to start off on the right foot with a car, so a big service and alignment check makes me feel better.

Where are you taking it?

It's also worth mentioning that these do like eating suspension components - Don't be surprised if it comes back with wanting a Anti roll bar "C" link changing, or one/some of the 8 suspension arms replacing. It's not even a mileage thing either, just sometimes they split randomly :(. The real bugger is that you need to do 4 wheel alignment when you change them, so it could turn into an expensive habit.

Its going to your mob but Acton :)

Sweet.

Surprised that they're taking on Bentley work TBH. There is an apprentice that I train with is from there, and he says that they very rarely take on Bentley work, especially when they are busy on the Lambos (Which he claims they are now).

If it ever comes my way let me know. I'll get the valeter's to do an extra good job on it :D.
