I doubt that very much, the story of beowulf is different to that of 300.

Well it made me wanna watch 300, so i did

It's acted out and then rendered I believe, much like how they processed a Scanner Darkly but made to look realistic.

absolutely not - a scanner darkly was digitally painted over, pretty much frame by frame then the resulting images were tweened, which is what gives it a slightly distorted look whenever the camera moves, look up rotoscopic filtering to find out more... this is just modelled on the actors, and some mocap may be involved but i doubt much to be honest

The CGI doesn't look that great IMO.

I still don't get why this is posted here, was there a Beowulf series of games or something?

Of course there's a Beowulf game. I've seen screenshots of it in Edge, and these aren't it, these are scenes from the film. I'm sure some film sequences will be used in the game too, but this is a trailer of the FILM not of the game.

If you've got the real actors why on earth would you CGI-ify them? Maybe mold them into your theme (A Scanner Darkly, 300, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, 300 etc). But why make them look like shoddy CGI?
