Best 1080P 144HZ Monitor?

Hi guys. What is the best 1080P 144HZ monitor please? Not too fussed about G-sync

Looking for the best looking picture/visuals i can get from this resolution.

I just settled for the Acer Predator XB252Q. It had G-sync (not too fussed) and 240hz so it looked like a good buy at £300. Granted a TN panel but the reviews seem positive towards image quality. Lets hope it's decent :D

25" 1080p is a bit of a concern tbh. That's 88 ppi. Getting a bit low IMO. Display I'm using now is 108ppi, but I'm using windows scaling a bit, but it's very sharp, and for games it's not insane ppi/res like 4k.

what would you recommend for the best 1080p monitor please with best image quality and nice ppi? I'm just looking for the best all rounder really

tbh I think 1080p is a bit too low res. All eyes are differnent but I'd say around 95ppi is about right (for me) any lower and it's bit like TV, any higher and demands on GPU is a bit much and pixels so tiny in games it's pointless.

For 1080p I'd say 22" is about right, but then 22" is pretty small monitor.

What GPU do you have?

I've got a 1080TI and a 1440P monitor but the idea is to downgrade but be as happy as i can with that downgrade. I don't play games like i used to so to have all that equipment is unnecessary. I'd rather but the cash elsewhere whilst still been able to play games when i can

For purely image quality, I think the Samsung would be the best option due to having some of the best contrast ratios and colour accuracy of any 24in 1080p 144hz monitors.

But the TN Acer (with worse image quality) is a really good deal due to G-Sync, ULMB and 240hz.

Thanks for that bud.

I've gone with the Acer. Hopefully it's not too bad on the image quality front.
 
I would advice to stay far away from that samsung cfg.

The anti-glare coating is the most aggressive seen to date [much more noticeable than even compared to the bog standard gaming tn] It's so pronounced that you can distinguish individual pixels from almost a meter away and I'm not exaggerating here one bit. It's disgusting.

But its what suppose to be its biggest selling point - the high contrast what is an even bigger issue. In any darker scenes in any game you can see ghosting [white or I should say purple-ish like trail behind all objects] so clearly that it becomes too distracting after only a few seconds.

It only ever looks good at still image, leaving the screen completely pointless for gaming. That linked Predator is a steal at that price ,obviously its not gonna compare to any ips panel in still images or desktop use.

Thank you for your input.

In honesty i just want a nice bright detailed picture whilst gaming. I don't really look at still pictures or use photoshop or anything like that but i generally do like bright nice colours. So hopefully the acer can deliver on that

I only use windows color management to lower gamma and eliminate any red, green, blue hue [most of the time just reducing blue does the trick].

>> Just do not use any downloaded icc profiles from the web, as pretty much all those panels differ quite a bit from one another, so even with a simple windows color management you will get better result for your particular screen. [you can rerun it multiple times until you're happy with result and most importantly until your own eyes likes it. Sometimes a perfectly calibrated screen can look less attractive for a gamer. Now of course its a different story for photographers with ips]

Did you get to test out the ACER monitor? How did you find it? Looking for a monitor for a spare system that may see occasional gaming.

Monitor is really nice. The colours are just as nice as my IPS 1440P. The resolution downgrade was initially a shock but I'm getting used to it. Most the games i play also have resolutions scalers on them so I'm not too fussed.

So far very happy with it!!

Cool, thanks for the update. Still can't decide. My old Dell U2711 (27" 1440P 60hz) has a dodgy power button or something that resets only when it's unplugged from the wall so might be tempted to get a 27"gsync replacement of the same resolution in case it gives out completely (need one high res monitor as main monitor for work) so might hold off for the moment.. This 240hz is great value though, so tempting.
