Best 2.5" Portable HDD

Hey, I'm looking for an external HDD, it must be 2.5" and preferably run from the USB cable. Needs to be a minimum of 320GB and be fast. Had a look online and seem to be debating over Toshibas or Seagates. Don't know much on reliability, so are there any brands to avoid? If I have to pay a bit more for a faster transfer speed, I will possibly go with it, as I want as fast a transfer speed as possible.

I'm also currently looking, one of the best looking is the new(er) WD passport but apparently there are issues with the micro usb connection (easy to come lose it seems), also it comes with some strange software built into the firmware and hence not removable with formatting...

I don't really know, I'd quite like some opinions from recent purchasers :)
