Best £200ish card for wow and does overclocking void warranty?

Well as it started out I only wanted to spend £200, so maybe a 7950 is a better choice and all those games :) Atleast it will have a decent cooler hey

The standard cooler is perfectly fine on a 670.

If you are not buying for WoW, consider a 7950. If 90% of your time is in WoW then do yourself a favour and buy a nVidia card.

As for free games, unless you actually WANT to play the titles it's a false economy. You could try sell them but you wont get much for them. (Seeing as everyone is up to it!)

Well there's always the 760 to consider, but I wouldn't pay more than £200 for one.

The KFA2 GTX760 scotsdragon suggested is a good option, and build quality wise would be better than one of those bargain basement 670. However I'd wait for OcUK to put it on today only or this week only sales on £199.99 (yes they have it on today only at this price before) or less before snapping one up.

You can have a look at that beauty there on one of the owner thread here:

I'd rather get this card (even if it is slightly slower than the GTX670) than paying £40 extra for a 670 that went through a manhood extension surgery :p

Shame you cant see whats coming up on the today only deals hey. I did have a gigabyte 760, but as the 670 is better thought it might be an idea as they arent much more now.
Maybe I should just be patient and get whatever comes up at a bargain price next.
It wasnt that long ago some 7950's were £200 hey

Wait...do you still have the Gigabyte 760? Cause going from that to a 670 would be pretty pointless. While the 670 does have more Steam Processor by a bit, it doesn't really make much different to real-world performance...more so on a game such as WOW.

If you truly want to improve the performance for WOW, if you already got a 760, you'd be much better of focusing on overclocking your FX-6300 higher instead (and invest on a decent cooler if you don't already have one).

+1
If you've got a 760, GPU certainly won't be holding you back in WoW.

I sent it back today it was a rev 1 and I had a perf problem with it so as it has been discontinued I have to have a refund. I did overclock the cpu but it got unstable but not hot at 4.2ghz. I have a artic freezer 13 I think it is. Although I now have a decent psu and a fresh windows 8 instal so i might try it again.

The KFA2 has UK rma base same as Gigabyte, so it might worth waiting for it to go on discount.

For overclocking the CPU higher, you would need to increase the voltage accordingly as well. The FX-6300 should at the very least hit 4.5GHz.

You might have more help on overclocking your CPU, if you make a thread over at the overclocking or CPU section of the forum.

There's not much fps difference between Nvidia and AMD cards in WoW anymore, Nvidia cards are still faster but not by much.

Best off with a 7950 imo, it has 3GB of memory, so will last you longer (assuming your not upgrading in 6 months).

Wow uses 1.8Gb Vram for me at 1920x1200, everything ultra.

Next expansion will push that over 2GB vram for sure.

how about, a monitor with a maximum frame rate of 60Hz cannot physically display a frame rate of above 60fps, so any fps over 60 makes 0 difference to the visual quality experienced.

..?

The reason for running over 60 fps on a 60 Hz monitor isn't for the display, but better response times.
