Best 24inch IPS monitor for £250

I havnt used this monitor myself, but im seriously considering purchasing one. From looking at reviews, it seems to be a very good performer for the price with brilliant image quality.

Will be using 2 x 24" monitors with my Mac Mini so the max I can get out of the hdmi is 1920 x 1200 using a hdmi to dvi convertor, would have been better if it had 2 display ports then that way I could have had 2 x 27"

The Dell is good, but I hate the way mine shows white text on black/dark backgrounds, it looks awful. If I'd known about it beforehand I'd have looked for another monitor.

I agree 100% - lovely panel but the AG coating is horrid next to my old trusty 20" NEC 20WGX2

Might try and soak it off over Easter..;)

Just setup my new U2412M, upgraded from a U2709W. Have to say I'm just as impressed as I was when I went from my TN panel to an SPVA panel.

The colour reproduction is very nice on this monitor. Haven't tested backlight bleed yet but at the moment I'm very impressed with the monitor.

The AG coating is a little harsh but certainly not something to make or break the awesomeness of the monitor.

Coming from my U2709W I can certainly notice a bit more responsiveness in FPS games and the brightness with the LED is certainly more impressive even at lower levels (40) than my U2709W.

Very impressed with it, as an aside thought I'd miss dropping down to a 27" to 24" but to be honest, 1920X1200 looks better on 24" than 27" (higher DPI I presume).

I've got 2x Dell U2412Ms and they are fantastic! Even more so after I used my SpyderElite 4. Well worth using to test the colour reproduction and fine-tune the contrast/brightness etc.

If you plan to do graphics work or photography, the u2410/u2413 is better than the u2412m as the 2412m is on the mainstream slant of the ultra sharp series.

This can be seen in-depth at http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2413.htm

But in short the 2412m doesn't support the adobe rgb color space and isn't factory calibrated.

U2410 - Wide gamut (102% NTSC, 98% Adobe RGB)
U2412M - Standard Gamut / sRGB (71% NTSC)

I have a U2412M at work and a U2410 at home and while the U2412M is pretty decent for it's price, I think the U2410 is well worth the extra cost.

I was just after purchasing the U2412m but cancelled it at the last minute as some reviews said that they did not like the AG coating. At the same time this is a top selling Monitor, so I do not know if some people are just being to picky about it. I am looking at the reviews for the U2413 and it has a lighter coating than the U2410 and U2412M. I am at present using a Dell P1130 21inch CRT which has served me well over the years.

I think what ever Monitor that I will purchase I will find some sort of fault with it, but I think the main question is what number of faults can I live with.

Never found the AG coating to bother me, then again coming from a macbook with antiglare coating It would seem the norm.

Picked up a spyder4Pro to calibrate the screen surprising what a difference it made from the default settings. Now I can be assured knowing when I send work off it will be printed as I see it on screen (as close as that is, obviously not going to be able to display pantones colors etc.)
