Best 250gb + External HDD Around?

As title really, I have looked but I don't really understand how I decide which one is best.

All I want to do really is store Music and Movies on it and play them through it without slow loading accessing times or whatever...

Cheapest method would be to buy your own disk and external enclosure. USB2 connection is all you need and is fast enough for accessing/playing movies.

I connect my disks to the USB port on my PC/Laptop at work and share it over the LAN. I've had upto 5 people browse and play movies on it at the same time without any problems.
