Hi,

I know many people are very clued up on this forum when it comes to tv's a lot more than myself so I have come looking for some advice. I'm looking for a 46" - 50" plasma under £1500 best picture and as thin as can be really as it will be wall mounted. I'm not too worried about 3D more interested in picture quality and how thin the set is. That being said 3d would be an added bonus if one tv had all three attributes.

I really like the thinness of some of the Samsung LED tv's am I wrong in thinking that LED just does not compare to plasma though?

comon guys help me out here plz!!!

Ok from quickly doing my own research I'm getting the message that the panasonic plasma's have the best picture, but they are a bit bulky for my liking.
I found this TV that seems a good price and seems to tick all 3 boxes, does anyone have any experiance or know of any reason to avoid this tv? SAMSUNG PS50C7000 or newer model Samsung PN50C8000 or PS50C6900

Cheers

Just bought an LG 50" PK350. SOme on here said it was pants. So far nothing but great things to say about it.
Lovely thin frame, thin in depth. One thing i could fault it on would be the mirror like finish on the screen, but where we have the tv it doesn't make much difference.
Another good thing the price approx £600

I'm in the same boat OP, looking for a 50" to wall mount. Going round in circles atm, but have narrowed my choice between the Panasonic G20/V20 and the LG PK 990 (both 50").

The Panasonics seem to be well received and i was impressed with the pq/black levels. Haven't seen the LG in the flesh yet, some reviews highlight image retention as an issue although price-wise they're sub £1000 now.

Will keep an eye on this thread. :)

500 posts! lol

yeah check out the 50pk350/590 - amazing amount of tv for the price. Lots of folks over at avforums swapping out their buzzing pannys for these and saving lots in the process too.

Bought an LG PK590 50" plasma from Comet for £675 (with discount as a mate works there) think there around £699.

I love it, so many settings to play with and picture quality is amazing in SD and HD. Also compared to the old 50" Panasonic in there for the same price the LG won hands down and i had done weeks of research before i splashed out.

I just bought the LGPK590 - stunning set for the price, £623.

Picture quality is better than my previous Panny PZ85 42" which cost about double when i bought it.

If money is no option though, the top of the range pannys will do the job, but im really happy with my tv, and im fussy (gone through about 20 hd's in the past 5 years).

Read that after posting mine, but exactly the same, great sets eh :)

I have owned the lg 50pk350 for about 3 to 4 months now and I simply can not fault it. Besides, the image retention is non existant on mine, there is no rising blacks unlike the G panasonic models to worry about and its only £600 notes for a stunning set.

Cant see why it wouldn't fit it looks like it should. I put the model number etc in and its says =

Die Unterstützung Ghost Design 2000 erfolgt mit dem gewählten Modell der TV-kompatibel!!.

Whatever that means lol.

Sorry if this seems a dumb question, but as said I'm not too clued up on tv's

what exactly is the difference between the LG PK350 & LG PK590

Freeview HD, THX presets, more hdmi on the 590 and internet tv i think.
The main difference is the freeview HD, is that worth £50 more to you?
