I know that everyone is allowed their own opinion but how can you say they are the best songs of ALL time? I don't want to start an argument but they are poor. Linkin Park are basicly a boy band and Nivana have much better songs anyway IMO. Mind you tool are quality.

5. Nobody Home - Pink Floyd
4. Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
3. Aenima - Tool
2. Nothing Is Easy - Jethro Tull
1. Still, You Turn Me On - Emerson, Lake & Palmer

This list is subject to change...

I can't possibly pick 5 songs. It's far too few.

I can name 5 good songs, but ask me again tomorrow and I'll probably name 5 different ones :p

Cant narrow it down right atm, but Billie Jean, Thriller , Smooth Criminal, Get on the floor, Supersition, Higher Ground, Purple Haze, a few Sinatra Numbers..a load of elvis stuff..throw in some elton john..some bowie. Ahh hell I cant type em all out:rolleyes:

Here goes:

Current favourite tracks (Note- these may change over time).

-Stevie Ray Vaughan - Lenny
-Steve Vai - The Attitude Song
-Any track by Meshuggah
-Jeff Beck - Cause We've ended as Lovers
-Led Zepplin - Black Dog

1) Manic Street Preachers - Design For Life
2) Beatles - Yesterday
3) Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
4) Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
5) J.S. Bach - Toccata & Fugue (Dm)

Nope, it's no good... I've tried going through my collection, and there is no one song - let alone 5 - that I could point to and say "This is the best song of all time - I mean, it's got everything: passion, craft, awe-inspiring and intelligent lyrics, a catchy melody, beautiful harmonies, wit, endless replayability, individual musicianship of the highest order, etc".

Every song I possess has some of the above qualities - some songs more than others - but no one song could stand objective scrutiny when my reasons are so nebulous and subjective.

I mean, take the song I'm listening to at the moment: Joy Division's "Transmission". Songwriting craft? Nope. Nothing clever about it, it's quite repetitive, in fact. Intelligent lyrics? I think not. Musicianship? Don't make me laugh. And yet I can listen to it again and again, thanks to Ian Curtis' haunting melancholic vocals, driving Hooky bass, and - perhaps most important of all - the memories that it triggers.

Probably the longest "Don't know" answer in recent history... :D

I can't be bothered thinking of 5 but 1 of them would most definately be 'New World' by Björk off the Selmasongs album. It's the closing track to film 'Dancer in the Dark' and it's one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard both musically and lyrically.

I cant name 5 cos it changes 2 often + it depends on my mood!

But my fav 5 of the day are:

1. Missy Elliott - Work it
2. Eminem - Loose Yourself
3. Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
4. The Music - Take the Long Road and Walk It

ROFL

That's the best thing about music, if everyone liked the same thing it would be a tad boring :D

As for the comments about LP, fair enough your opinions, i like their music a lot, if you don't like em don't listen to em simple as, but i will :)
