*Best adventure game?*

Little Big Adventure 1 and 2. Outstanding games!

Oh and Zelda: link to the past is probably my favourite on all systems :)
 
I've only played the demos so far but Still Life and Syberia 1/2 are good as well. Broken Sword games are probably my favourite though.

YEAH! god i love that game so much , i still enjoy sitting down to play it nowadays

Little big adventures also, il always remember xmas eve not being able to move without thinking about Lba, and how i loved it when i finally got to pop the disc in the Playstation at 6am :)

ZAK MCKRACKEN AND THE ALIEN MINDBENDERS

probably the first one i played. Think it was on the Amiga.

Played sam and max -hit the road, aswell, hilarious game, not looked at the new version yet, will do one day soon :)

I've fond memories of Zak McKracken but it was back in the days of when adventure games could be rendered unfinishable by forgetting to do something in the early phases of the game so it's bittersweet for me. They didn't spring sudden death on you however so it wasn't all bad (and who can forget this Sierra-inspired "feature" being lampooned in The Secret of Monkey Island?)

For me it has to be Day of the Tentacle. One of the first fully-voiced games I bought for my CD-ROM drive (single-speed Mitsumi POWAR!!11). The excellent voice acting made the game even funnier.
 
ah forgot about those old skool amiga adventure games!!

Anyone remember:

  • Beneath a steel sky
  • Bill and teds excellent adventure
  • Flight of the amazon queen
  • Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
  • Simon the sorcerer

Brings back some good memories!!
 
Azraels Tear gets overlooked a lot as an adventure game.
Anachronox is also great once you've patched all the bugs away (OK most of the bugs ;) )
Beyond Good and Evil was great while it lasted too (I confess I played the PS2 not the PC version)

Monkey Island 1&2 and Fate of Atlantis won't ever be beaten though as the point and clicker has now gone the way of the dodo. :(
