What the hell!?!?!! That is going to be a major system hog if it needs that much RAM for the OS alone. Combine that with Symantec, and voila, your pc is officially full of system hoggers!

Not much help though!!

I would take the 3800 if I were you. Then you can always clock it a bit if you feel brave.

On topic though...

If your not overclocking then get an X2 3800. If you are then look at one of the Dual Opterons, 165 is the cheapest. They overclock well. To be fair though wait till AM2 is around and go for one of them. Will be more exspensive as you will need a new motherboard and memory but well worth the investment in the long run.

This is what i will do and compare them to the X2 3800+ the AM2 will be better but it all depends on the price.
