Best and fastest 500gb 7200rpm 2.5" SATA drive on the market?

Ive looked around, and have 2 on my mind. The seagate 7200.4 500gb and the hitachi 500gb 7k500 seem to be the best.

I was going to go with the seagate because I can get it relatively cheaply from overclockers, but have heard some reports of the drive being noisy and clicking.

Are these the best 2 to go for? Does anyone have the seagate and want to comment on it?

Any help would be brilliant guys, really want to buy it now ish and get it installed.

I have a 2008 macbook aluminium aswell if that makes a difference.

Does it need to be 500gb? as the 2.5 WD scorpion black is one of the fastest 2.5 drives available .

The 7K500 is the quickest (aside from the Momentus XT). Mine cost me about £65 and certainly isn't noisy.

Appears that the 7K500 can be had for £50.20 inc P+P (brand new) on a well known auction site!

Sure you need a SATA drive?

Any 7200rpm drive will appear a lot faster than the standard 5400rpm ones

That may be the Deskstar 3.5" 7K500 not Travelstar.

I'm bad!!!! it was a 320Gb 2.5" Travelstar
