Best backlit keyboard?

Can anybody recommend a backlit keyboard. I've looked at the reclusa, g11 and eclipse II. The g11 I can get cheapest (I'm in new zealand and oddly enough the eclipse II is the most expensive - opposite to the UK it seems...)

Are there any others I should look at? I've always considered the mouse more important than the keyboard, so don't mind a cheap and cheerful one, but I'm looking for something that is backlit or illuminated in some way.

I've just bought myself a Eclipse 2, but it hasn't been delivered yet. I'll let you know tomorrow!

On a side note, i'm hopefully moving to NZ next year, and was wondering what the computing scene is like? I see in your sig that you've got a decent setup, how did the prices compare to the UK?

Thanks chaps. Anybody with a G11 care to comment on it? :)

Heh, sorry mate, bought the system in my sig while in the UK, form OcUK actually. But I did compare prices with NZ and found them to be about the same. I just wanted to get and use it, rather than wait 'til I got to NZ to buy it. 'course now it's in a ship on the way here, so I have to wait to use it again anyway. D'oh. ;)

Some things are cheaper though - I'm looking at a dell 2407 at the moment it's a fair bit cheaper here. Components seem to be slightly more expensive.

BTW, email is in trust - drop me a line and I can point you to some NZ sites to have a look at if you want.

Love my g15 too so i'd recommend you go for the g11.

Had the original eclipse and found it good but a little too bright... quite difficult to make out some off the keys.

i have the g11, becarefull it is huge!!!!!! but by far the best keyboard i have ever owned :)

drivers are a pain in the backside though if you are running any microsoft usb devices, it seems to like to conflict visciously with them :D

Bah! I own the saitek 2 and think even at the top brightest level, its the same eve if you move the knob to the lower levels, but on a lighter note, best keyboard I ever owned, soon I'll own the G15!

Pah! You guys obviously know nothing! ;)

The BEST backlit keyboards are made by Deck. Google em and gaze at their awsomeness. I have one myself and it's fantastic.

Thanks all. Think I'll probably go for the G11 since it's cheapest, and there seems to be similar number of recommendations for it and the Eclipse II.

The Deck looks sweeet, but geez, talk about pricey. And they don't seem to ship outside of the US.

It's a shame the G11 is ugly as sin and bigger than two keyboards sellotaped together. Isn't there a new range of logitech gaming keyboards out soon, without hundreds of macro keys people will never use?

I've got a Speedlink backlit keyboard around somewhere, looks nice but makes a faint buzzing sound that makes me want to top myself.
