Whats recommended?

I'm currently with madasafish but contract is due up in a month.

I want ulimited downloads and a fixed IP.

Thanks

easy

plusnet will give you that for £22 but there's a download limit for 4pm-midnight every day and I find traffic horribly shaped during the daytime. But downloads over night are unlimited and pretty un-restricted.

I'm not recommending them as I've heard a lot of people get problems with them. but telling you that that's what they offer and it works for me.

no referrals please

Zen doesn't do unlimited downloads or any off peaks at all and is well over priced for what it offers.

Yeah zen.... but i think the unlimited is about £75+vat a month ( http://www.zen.co.uk/Broadband/ML_Business.aspx?page=527 ) so probably out of your range. This is TOTALLY unlimited and zero shaping. Its classed as a business package, the home ones come with various caps included.

Im on the legacy 2mb package that i still pay £34.99 for. Its now got a 100gb cap but more important for me it rock steady and pings are excellent. Zero lag in WoW ( always below 50ms on any server ive tried ) and its never been down in the 4 years ive had it. Ive been to enough people's houses fixing pcs to see how crud most of the competition are. Early evening and most are down to a snails pace. Sadly the old legacy packages are no longer available and its all "upto 8meg" now.... so you take a chance that it may be unstable or just brilliant and wont know till you actually get it setup :D

IF you can put up with abit of slow times normally 10pm-1 ish i would say ukfsn, for example the office max 45 pack obviously 45gig peaks, and from 8pm-8am off peaks and all weekends you get 300gig and is £29 as its office its 832kbs upload.

You will drop to around 2 meg speeds from 10-1 but apart from that its fine, now am downloading at my full 475kbs now, it will only drop when the home peaks kick in at 10pm, they are fixed ip too.

Ping wise even in this time is fine as they cut everyone down too 2 meg when it gets hammered but they are having another central pipe installed soon which will help with that.

To be honest, unlimited downloads are a pipe dream - even on Zen's £93/month setup.
It might be a good idea to look at how much you're using, though Jabbs' suggestion's about the closest to unlimited (without paying crazy money) you're going to get...

Are you cabled up? If so..Virgin Media.

VM don't offer a static IP, though if you stay connected long enough it's near enough.

im with ukonline static ip for over 1.5 years now

they have a fup but before that it was a cap of 500 gb when i joined so i assume the fup is near that
