whats the best player software for windows 7, cyberlink power dvd one i got free with player only supports stereo and the full version is like $60.

PowerDVD, WinDVD and Arcosft all cost $100. If you want to spend less get AnyDVD HD and use MPC-HC but you won't have menus.
Sorry to hijack :S.

I've tried using cyberlink powerdvd, windvd and arcsoft total media. None of which have worked correctly. PowerDVD was working and then it just stopped working and powerdvd was reading sin city but it was corrupted.

Anyway basically I have an AnyDVD installed. Two questions
1. How can I play sin city all at once strait through without selecting multiple files?
2. I have an Asus D2 and surround amp can I output DTS/DD audio with mpc-hc or VLC etc?

Play the largest m2ts file.

Change the AC3/DTS decoder to SPDIF and it'll pass through.
Thanks for the advice ;), changed AC3/DTS which is great :).

With Sin City though that doesn't appear to work :S. The largest two files are just ~10 minutes clips (about 2.5gigs each).

Are you saying if I buy a blu-ray player, my anydvdhd will just let me play it in Media Player Classic and Media Centre with no other tools?

I really hope so, this is currently the only thing holding me back from getting one. I bought anydvdhd when they still have the lifetime updates offer going

+1 I'd like to know this too... for (nearly) the same reason!.. :)

MPC-HC. Are you using the latest version and do you have the MPEG PS/TS source filter enabled?
I'm actually using the combined community codec pack latest version, which has an old version of MPC-HC included. Should I uninstall and install a different codec pack? K-lite appears to include the source filter you mentioned. Sound good?

Get rid of any codec packs, you don't need them and they're rather rubbish. MPC-HC has all the splitters/filters built in (make sure they're all checked), just grab the latest version - http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player-classic-home-cinema-x86-x64/ .

As no one else has answered this, I will. I've used anydvdhd and mpc-hc/vlc to watch blu ray content. However there are no menu's and so far I've been unable to get a movie to play straight through without loading different files, although it should be possible to do this. Hope that helps a bit.
