Hi,
I've been looking into SSD's quite a lot for the past few days now and still cant really justify spending £100/60gb so i'm loooking for a hard drive instead. I'd preferably liek to spend under £100, and have it around 500-1tb mark, but unsure what to go for!
The new f4's seem good, but would they be suitable for an OS if i had 2 in raid0?
I'm also stuck on the F1/F3's, equally good but again, unsure!
I'll have sata III so there'll be no limiting from the mobo end!

Hope you can help, as i really cannot decide at all!
Thanks,
Matt

edit: i meant to put Best OS drive but put boot by accident!

You should bite the bullet and get an ssd, i waited for ages and said i wouldn't spend that kind of money but i finally did and i cant believe how much quicker everything is.

anyway i hear the f4's are fast read with write/reads speeds of 150mbps or another choice would be a wd veloceraptor

An SSD is easily the best all-round system upgrade. My suggestion is to get a good SSD (OCZ 2E 60GB or similar) for your OS, and then buy a cheap hdd for games and storage. It may cost an extra £30 or £40 but the difference will be staggering.

ive got 2 wd vr for £100 each because like you i dont want to pay that amount for that many GBs, especially as i would want 160GB

do you want to spend 100 on one hdd or both combined?

ssd mate - you'll kick youself for having not done it sooner.

W7 and essential apps takes less than 15gb on my 60gb ssd. (55gb in windows)

SSD's are coming down. A competitor had a 40GB sandforce drive for £59.99 the other day which is plenty for win7 and a few programs. Just go for it mate you wont be sorry.
