Hi all,

I been using NTL now for about 4 or 5 years on broadband, i currently have a 1MEG connection but they seem to be really playing up at the moment with constant disconnects, and do not seem to want to help, just wondering if there are any good ISP's you could recommend to me, im sure there will be some out there a lot cheaper than NTL and also providing a higher connection! with the reliability that us gamers need lmao.

Cheers.

Blueyonder Telewest, 10Mb connection, iirc either £35 or 355 not sure if there was a price drop at one time.
Unlimited usage.

No problems for the last 2 years for me, brilliant service for me.

ok brill ill look into it, ill be able to find a link for them on google wont i?

They dont have any connection drops in peak time or owt do they like tiscali n them do.

Although I never though I would be defending them but I have had tiscali for over a year now and never had a problem.

I got a 2mb speed and never have much higher than ping of 30 on any games that I play. And never dropped out once in games through connection and never been without my internet since joining.

Plus they are soon getting 8mb in my area. Which is only £18.99. Cant beat that for value.

am on ntl 10MB pachage with no problems. Call the technical line and ask for a english technical support person, and not dam dam indian, i did it and was sorted with an engineer with 2days and got 3months half price.

Make sure u get an english technical support cus if you dont, the indians will just having you running in circles

You'll probably get more answers (and from more knowledgeable people) in the internet/network forum on here.

If you're going for ADSL and you're not far from the exchange, go for Be. If you're on NTL atm, you won't be able to get Blueyonder/Telewest as they don't overlap afaik.

I'm using Blueyonder 4Mbit and it's fantastic, with no caps! It's cheap as chips at £25/month but I am thinking of downgrading my package as I never use all that speed but the ping is always great and the connection has no congestion (at least in my area.)

You can't get telewest you would need to be in a Telewest area. Your choices are NTL or ADSL.

Also you need to remember that although there is lots of choice out there, at the end of the day its a BT line with adsl so if you have issues its BT that will fix it no matter who you go with.

You would be better off staying with NTL and trying to resolve the fault. Also you should be on 2 meg now as the 1 meg has been auto upgraded.

Make sure you have a cable modem and not set top box broadband.

Also ntl and telewest are one company so what one does the other one does.
