Well I have just had a hair raising experience this morning, I bought a budget case and power supply off of the bay and installed my hardware in it this morning, after numerous cuts to my hands due to pointed metal and sharp plastic I turned it on.

Blue smoke out the back of the psu and a bang, naturally I thought the worse and got my gear out of there quick time, luckily everythings alright, the psu must have been real poor as it was only running 1optical/1ide and a celeron with onboard vid/sound.

So anyway, I need a case for around the £50 mark, Im going be upgrading quite a bit in the next week and will have a Enermax 500W to go with it, what do you suggest?

I was looking at the Soprano, is it any good?

If you can stretch to £58 including delivery, just get the PC7+.

Its the best case for this budget for sure, the build quality can rival anything another case can offer and it looks good, cools well and is not to noisey.

Lian Li PC7+ :D

Looks a bit plain to me, I think that the Soprano looks better, Im sure others disagree :) Whats the build qualiy like on the Thermaltake.

I was also looking at the Antec SLK1650B, Any1 have any experience with this one, I have had a couple of Antec cases before and found them to be quite good.

Edit: Sorry for 101 questions but whats the quality of chieftec like as I can get a Chieftec full tower for 30quid

That antec is good, but your the step up above that with the budget and seperate psu.

The Soprano is not built nearly as well as the PC7+ and it is quite poor compared to the standard of the latest Thermaltake cases.

You can't get a better built case than the PC7+ for £50 range, there just is not one!

Always could consider picking up a second hand ATCS case aswell, some are floating around for that sort of money :)

That thermaltake sucks. I saw it in the shop and it is seriously nothing compared to the Lian Li.

The Lian Li is a great looking case, pictures dont do it justice.

The next best thing in that price range is the -CoolerMaster Centurion 530.

Chieftec cases are tanks, not cases.

Dropped mine down the stairs with a system in, the heatsink popped off thats all, booted up first time.

Great cases, but a little date on the internal design now as they are behind the times. But for £30 its a good buy :D

The site is a competitor so I cant link to it and they dont actually say what model, just large tower. Heres a pic of it though -

How much is there delivery, as that case is only worth £45 in your house really. More than that and newer cases do begin to outshine it by a fair margin :)

I recently got a Coolermaster Centurion 530 to replace some dodgy Superflower case I had & I'm impressed. The 120mm fans make it nice & quiet & my case & cpu temps are down about 6 degrees or so :o

To thread starter, the choice most people here are saying is the

PC7+ or

Coolermaster 530.

Both are great cases, and both prices are justified. I would go for the Lian Li, as it is easy to find windows/ mods and other such things for the case. Also, the build qaulity is great.

Antec SLK1650B Black Quiet Mini Tower Case - 350W SmartPower , i have had loads of Antec cases, i built a system for a friend last week and this case was superb for the price, good build quality and a psu for 46quidish.
