well thinking of getting two for recording gameplay footage. which is the best ?

FAEX is the older model, the FZEX is the model released late last year - the newer ones are a bit faster than the old, and I believe you get a 5 year warranty for the new drives against 3 for the older ones. Some people say these drives are noisy - but I have not found that to be true in my case. It is also said t that if you do get some slightly noisey ones they quieten down after some use.ymmv of course.

I've got the 4TB one and the only time it was noisy was when I copied back my backup data to it (about 2TB) as it was going nuts for a while.

Day to day I can't hear it.
