Wanting to get my partner a canon camera for Xmas. Body only
As much as I would like to give her my 60D and get a 70D it's a bit of a stretch atm

Only needs to be body only really.
Is 650d a decent bet?
 
650d wasn't all that different to my 70d other than AF/FPS performance etc :) Feels a bit smaller etc but I guess women wouldn't mind that anyway. Touchscreen was decent enough
 
Yeah my gf would probably prefer size. She isn't a porker.
Touch screen is probably a plus. Didn't realize it had touch.

I might upgrade my 60D to 70D after Xmas. I should probably look at cost + hassle of just passing my 60D down
 
I really like my 650D, there isn't really anything I crave on the nnD's vs. the nnnD's and the additional size puts me off, if anything I'm contemplating going smaller with a CSC

vast majority of my pics on flickr are with the 650D if you want to check, it really comes down to size, whether you want super fast burst or weather proofing IMO.

Think I'll try the 650d body only.
Can't quite justify 70d full cost at Xmas + car insurance
 
I'm very happy with my 650d. It's my first SLR so I don't know much, but it does everything I want and I can get some good shots out of it!
 
Ive just bought a 700D (which I believe is basically the same as the 650D) but its only being delivered tomorrow, so cant give that much helpful advice
