Best Codec Pack for OSX

I too wouldn't mind knowing this.

Something that plays Avi, WMV, MPEG etc - basically every major codec out there :)
 
Codec pack? I honestly can't remember ever installing one. :confused: I've got MPlayer and that seems to play everything off the bat except for WMV which Flip4Mac deals with.
 
Ignore everything else, download VLC player. Plays absolutely everything I've thrown at it, no need for silly codecs.

I am struggling to get WMV files embedded in webpages to play.

http://www.flightlevel350.com/

Videos from that site for instance, I cannot get them to play - Firefox keeps telling me that I need to install a plugin, it takes me to the Windows site - ive downloaded VLC, Windows Media Player, Flip4Mac etc and still nothing.

Assuming you're using an Intel based Mac, you'll have to run eith Safari or Firefox under Rosetta to be able to watch the videos. ;)
 
...shoulda waited a bit longer ;)

I know how you feel though mate! I'm waiting on a load of pro apps to become Universal before I upgrade.. I hope they're out in time for christmas :cool:

The main Apple ones are, but Adobe apps are not. From what I've read, they aren't going to make a Universal version of CS2 Photoshop for example, instead, only going universal when CS3 comes out.

Yeah thats true.

Although as I mentioned, the pro apps (CS3 included) are coming out November / early December *fingers crossed* :)

The latest version of RealPlayer for OSX is now universal, so you'll be able to watch some videos without running Safari/Firefox under Rosetta :) Hopefully not long before Flip is universal too:)
 
Was just checking the Flip4Mac forum - people who have paid for the pro versions are getting a little wound up that its taking so long for UB version to be released.

They said early May, so hopefully we'll see their UB version shortly!
