Best complete solution to replace Apple products

What are you doing on a MBP that needs a 750M? Games are dire on a MAC which leaves compute type tasks. Those sort of tasks are not something you want to do on a surface to be honest.

Razer Blade is a really good laptop. Great design and powerful.

LOL, Cities Skylines, Sim City, Sims 4 etc.

So yeh there are a few games but I stand by my point that 'gaming' in a Mac is dire. The selection is extremely limited. Not only that generally support performance isn't as good and the vast majority of developers have no intention of supporting Mac in the future. Your also stuck on a platform with limited hardware options to actually make them run and look decent and it has zero optimisations through drivers.

So yes trying to play games on a Mac is dire.

I too have come to the conclusion this is a troll thread....

For games not available on macOS I also have Windows installed.

Why is asking for buying advice considered trolling?

There isnt one ecosystem outside of Apple, but you dont really need one imo, i happily use PC,Ipad Pro,Surface,Iphone and Apple Watch, i dont feel im missing out on anything and everything works just fine.

I agree Ios does work and is a touch more polished for the average joe, the apple watch so far i have found is the best smart watch, and so it should be for the money, people can cream their pants as much as they want over apple products, but they should be bloody good for what they cost. People need to stop the fan boy crap, everything has its pros and cons, theres no bad Phone/OS in this day and age.

Within the last year I've been through a de-fruiting process. Not because of any high minded ideas against Apple or anti-fanboy sentiments.
I just change gadgets a lot and felt it was time to sell my MacBook Air, iPad Mini 2, iPhone 6+ and Apple Watch.

(For me) Any laptop of similar power replaces the MacBook, Nexus 6P and now Oneplus 3T replaces the iPhone no problem (but also now have iPhone SE for secondary phone).

I have a Nvidia Shield tablet. Great for watching and gaming but all round loses out to iPads (I've since bought an iPad Air 2 also).

I've had lots of smartwatches. Of the Android variety Moto 360 1+2, LG G Watch R, Sony Smartwatch 2. In my opinion, nothing comes close to Apple watch except they look a bit naff IMHO.

TLDR:Any laptop, any decent phone, stick with iPad and Apple watch.....which is a bit difficult if you want to keep the same ecosystem. So probably better off staying Apple if integration is something you like.

class leading how?

iPad and Apple Watch are considered best in class.

This doesn’t mean they are right for everyone, but for the majority of people they will offer the best experience within the class. The poster above found this out it seems :)

I should mention I also have an Apple TV and I use that to stream videos from my devices, so I would need a device that can also do that from each device.

I've just de-appled (pads, tv, phone, well the pad stays!). If you need IOS on everything then fine but you are missing out. If you can't handle change then best stick with apple :)

In my experience:

Chromecast or built in smart TV > apple tv
Pixel > iphone by a mile
Nvidia shield >= ipad (very close, shield too small sometimes)
PC > Mac by a light year
Smart watch - who actually uses these?!?!?

Apple make it easy for those who can't handle technology, if that's you cough up and deal with it!

Got to vehemently disagree with this. I have a Shield Tablet and several iPads. The Shield is slow, laggy, and has very poor battery life even in comparison to my iPad Mini 2. It's a decent enough tablet (and great for the money) but it's not even close to an iPad in terms of smoothness of the OS etc.

I used to have a chrome cast but found it of limited use so got rid of it but can the chrome cast be used to simply mirror your laptop screen onto the TV (regardless of what you are doing)?

So when compared with similar priced alternatives?
Considered by whom?

I've not done it myself, but a quick Google has a few sites saying that you can. You certainly can with your phone.

I'm a big fan of Android, but admit the iPad is a decent tablet (given one through work) although I still feel it's very limited by the OS and that has always been one of the reasons I go Android.

As I've never owned a Mac or an iPhone, serious question here, what are the benefits? How do they link together through the 'Apple Eco system' and provide something that Google doesn't?

I'm also a little surprised the Apple Watch is so highly regarded. For me the screen not being on all the time is a massive draw back already. What does it do so well? (Not trolling, or looking for an argument, just looking to learn a little about Apple.)

It looks like you have to use Chrome to be able to cast your entire desktop to your TV, which I guess means you are also required to use Chrome on a tablet or smartphone to do the same thing (and to keep favourites and open tabs in sync across devices). And as Chrome on tablets and smartphones doesn’t have an ad-blocker, that browser is a no-go for me. I must have an ad-blocker across all my devices.

In regard to the Mac and iPhone link, all the photos I take on my iPhone are synced to my Mac so I have copies on both. The photos are all tagged and stored in the same way on both devices. I can send texts from the Mac and make/receive phone calls. The iPhone syncs perfectly with my iTunes music library and again means I have local copies of all my music on all devices.

The Apple Watch screen lights up as soon as you lift your wrist so the screen not being on all the time isn’t really an issue (and if the raise to wake doesn’t work on you want to know the time without raising your arm, you can double tap the watch face). The watch records all of my runs/workouts so I can see how I’m performing. I have the Strava app installed on my watch so it syncs to my Strava account where my friends/family can see what runs I’m doing. For stationary work outs (such as treadmill or exercise bike where Strava doesn’t work), Apple’s own fitness tracking works a treat and then syncs with the health app on the phone so I can see how I’m performing.

The watch occasionally takes heart rate readings and it’s interesting to see how low/high my heart rate goes. The watch also pings me when I receive a notification, tells the time, allows me to see some basic info at a glance (sunset/sunrise, my exercise goals for the day, calendar appointments etc). I was in London the other day and after punching some directions into my phone when walking somewhere, I just had to look at the watch to see where to turn as the directions are displayed on there. The watch taps you on the wrist to let you know you need to take a turn.

The watch also unlocks my Mac when it’s on my wrist. It also has my favourites playlist stored on it so I can connect my Bluetooth headphones to the watch and listen to music while I’m out running with just the watch on me.
