The only reason i have a Ps2 is cause of Gran Turismo but now that i have a 360 will i be happy with Forza 2 or is GT still the Daddy of the Console driving games.

It's all personal opinion.

I really enjoyed GT1 & 2 and those are probably still my favourite racing games. However I liked Forza much better than GT3 or 4.

Agreed.

I wouldn't even say that there was a whole lot of difference between Forza and GT because fundamentally, Forza copies GT.

Forza 2 should be your best bet though as you have a 360 already and I don't think the new GT is out for over a year?

My favourite arcade racers have to be the Project Gotham series. They just edge out GT as far as I'm concerned. I am not bothered about too many settings on an arcade game, so the simplicity of PGR really goes well with the way it matches the challenge to the class of car that you have. If I want sim I'll play on my PC

Forza was really good, but I agree with a statement above about it being a copy of GT. The whole Forza interface just doesn't feel welcoming to me.. Weird complaint, I know. I'm still looking forward to no 2 in a big way.

PGR series is the better of the three for me. GT3 + 4 didn't have the sparkle of the first two and hence I never got more than 20% through either, whereas the variety of modes in the PGR games always keeps me interested. Didn't play Forza 1 very much, nice graphics but with the driving aids off and no wheel I found it pretty difficult. It struck me as more of a sim than PGR or GT, but playing a sim on a pad is always likely to be a problem.

I'll still be picking up Forza 2 though.

To the OP - with no new GT on the horizon and already owning a 360 there's no reason not to get PGR3 and Forza 2.

Another vote for project gotham. I had metropolis street racer on the dreamcast, then project gotham 2 on the xbox, and now project gotham 3 on the 360. My favourite driving games by far tbh, a lot better then GT.

Both Forza and PGR are great, if you're a GT fan then Forza's definately you're best bet, IMO superior to GT. Why not pick up Forza 1 on the cheap as its now backwards compatible?

If you like customization then it's definitely Forza. You can create pretty much any design for your car paintwork, and thats a massive plus for me.

Gran Turismo was a solid and impressive game, but PGR has moved the whole driving genre on in my opinion. Number 3 is where I have joined the party but it was very much worth playing it on the Xbox 360.

Personally I also really enjoy playing Colin McRae and the Formula 1 games...if Xbox can get an F1 licence then this platform will have all the games I could ever hope for :D

For me, Forza is better than GT. I've just never gotten into the GT series, but I was hooked on Forza almost instantly. Without the aids on, it's damn hard, and probably the closest to a sim on a console, but that just makes it all the more rewarding. Personally, I don't play with all the aids off, simply because it's too hard, but it's all about finding the level you like really.

And yeah, it's got tons of customisation options, for both the inside and outsides of any car.

PGR is good too, but Forza was the best driving game on the Xbox, so the sequel should be ace.

get Lotus 1-2-3 on the Amiga 500.........awesome game!

Personally I always preffered the GT series over say forza simply because of the menu system. I just couldn't get on with the first forza (I want the cars in manufacturer order not just in a random list).

However once on the track so to speak there wasn't much in it.
