If you have a DS and are a fan of JRPGS then these are a must:-
Chrono Trigger
Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest V
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV

As for PS3 (and 360) I really enjoyed Eternal Sonata. Weird story and a bit slow to get going but for what ever reason I really enjoyed it.

Lost Odyssey is my favourite JRPG on 360.

There are loads of great JRPGS on PS2, Persona 4 being possibly my favourite game ever.

And yeah Fallout 3 and Dragon Age are awesome (See, I'm not a total Japanophile, just really on a JRPG kick right now):D

If you fancy a couple of slightly more obscure jrpgs on the 360 I'd recommend Last Remnant and Magna Carta 2. Whilst not as good as Lost Odyssey they're both very good games and will satisfy that jrpg itch.

Thanks for reminding me about about these two. Was really interested in Last Remnant but never got round to it. Magna Carta 2 was also on my list but to be honest I completely forgot it even existed until now!

On a different note. I really enjoy JRPGs and get annoyed at a lot of the gaming media always saying they are too old fashioned and that Japanese devs are behind the west in terms of game design. I don't want every game to be an FPS or "Action adventure with RPG elements". I spent a lot of time on the 360 with Battlefield 1943, FIFA 10 and spent around 100 hrs on Fallout 3. Those games are great but I also love a good JRPG that is not made just to appeal to the masses.

Long live traditional JRPGs

/rant over :p
