Best Cooler for a socket LGA775 P4 CPU?

The title says it all i guess, i`m looking at replacing my CPU cooler,i would be grateful of some recommendations please guys.I have a Soprano case,so obviously it would need to fit in there.Would this one fit ok?

Scythe ninja or tuniq tower instead, if you really wnat zalman then at least go for the 9700 series (bigger)

Thanks, i`ll go for the ninja, this might sound stupid, but will there be the thermal compound included? , or should i put that on this order from ocuk too?

im pretty sure it comes with some. if you dont have any as5 at home you should buy some anyway

It does come with some, or at least both of mine did.
But yeah buy some as5, handy to have.

The Zalman 9500 is a great cooler. Ok maybe not as good as the 9700, but it compares with the ninja and tuniq in terms of cooling.
There was a review with them all being compared somewhere, will see if I can find it.

Interesting read that.To be honest, i was going to go with the Ninja because of the fact it can be used without a fan.Now i`m undecided,again!.

You can't really use the ninja without a fan. But you can use it with a nice quiet low airflow fan.

I'd get a ninja over the zalman at any time, it has 4 times the ammount of heatpipes, and fan is easely moddable, with a nice high rpm fan it'll beat any zalman because their fans cant be changed (well not easy anyhow)...

The Ninja is a pretty safe bet, as to the fan depends what you want

a) Silence - I had good results with the AKASA AMber 120mm

b) Hoovercraft - There are some monster 120mm fans that are as loud as hell and shove 150cfm's, Monster cooler + Monster fan! lol

(you can always use a fan controller to stop your ears bleedin')

It comes with a fan, try that first as its fairly good.

For silence nexus 120mm is the best, that's what spcr used in their tests and i use one.
