Best cooler for Q6600 oc in a Sugo01?

The best cooler for the SG-01 is the NT-06 lite, with the Strider PSU, but if you can't have that then the radial coolers like the Zalmans and the Thermaltake Orbs are the next best bet with the Tagan through-flow PSU. but they quite often don't fit the P35 motherboards because of the fancy chipset coolers.

The G0 chips are running very cool, even when highly overclocked, I'd be very tempted to try it with the NT-06 lite.

From what i read when building my sugo, the nt06 for more money only offered the same temps as the zalmans and it buckled under overclocks
Then theres the whole debate of whether throwing all that heat through the psu is a good thing.

I used a NT-06 line in my SG01 build but that was just a E6320, and even then I only clocked it lightly because it got hot fast. Not sure I'd even trust a Q6600 at stock to one.

Thats why I'm going for a TJ08 on my next build, yes its not all alu, but it looks like it is a very cool case and with two 120mm fan holes and normal width, could easily take a high end air cooler or water cooling.

\o.

It's fairly heavy when you have everything in it - i.e PC, cables, keyboard, mouse, etc. but I just carry mine down at the side.

Well worth the extra purchase IMO. Plus it fits both the SG01 and SG03.

In that case it would be a good idea to buy the bag then for when I plan to travel back home or to LANs.

Definitly.

I like it just for the fact that it's measured to fit the Sugo, so it fits snug, meaning there's less chance of damaging the case in transit.

Plus there are loads of pockets for all sorts. I only ever need the Sugo pack and the TFT - the keyboard, mouse, and cables all have pockets on the Sugo pack.

Monitor will be left in my room at Aston so all I need is the pack. Sounds good then, now for the MONEY >.<. I made a post in General Hardware with my spec is anyone wants to check it out.

Okay, I need help. URGENTLY.

Seems the Zalman isn't coping as well as I expected it to.

I've always assumed temps are good since I never get issues, however it appears my E6600 at stock is loading up to 80C and idling at 60C!

Now this isn't good at all.

Is the NT06 still the best cooler for the SG03? Even though it's only got the PSU fan shifting air around it? Or would it be better to go with active cooling, something with a 120mm fan?

TIA. :)

What about reversing the spin on the PSU? Would mean opening it which is a bit scary :)

As to the NT06, I built a E6320 oc'ed to 2.4Ghz which I think is the same as the E6600, well with the NT06 and PSU fan only it was idling at 40c and primed at 60c.

How hard is it to mod the PSU? Also I think there are two fans in the PSU, one at the front and one at the back, so both will need to be reversed.

I'd rather reverse the CPU cooler speed though.
