best cooler

ive just upgraded my ststem to i7-920
currently with a stock cooler but would like to upgrade to a better one.
can anyone please recommend a good one.
the megahalems seems pretty decent but ive heard you need to buy extra pins and fans?
i have a storn sniper case if it will fit, ive heard its pretty large.
coolermaster v8?

The megahalems is a great cooler, among the very best air coolers. However, as you say it requires a fan to be added ( I recommend this one). Also, if you want to run two fans then that's more money for an extra fan and you will need another set of fan clips (the megahalems box only comes with enough for 1 fan).

I'm certain that the storm sniper case can fit a megahalems. That case can take a TRUE and the megahalems is not quite as tall as a TRUE.

Here is another option. With the stock fan it performs about as well as the megahalems. If you add a couple of the noctua fans (linked above) to it, it becomes quite a bit better.

The coolermaster V8 is simply not as good as the megahalems.
