I have read through many threads but thoght I'd ask a question relevant to my system.

I have the Coolermaster 430 case and I'd like some advice on fans.

I currently have a 120m fan blowing in at the front, and 1 out the back. I then have an 80mm fan on the bottom blowing in.
There are 2 locations for fans on the top, which at first I had one blowing out at the rear but then I moved it to the other hole to blow IN and onto the RAM and area where my Corsair A50 sucks in.
My GPU keeps crashing on me when I play games saying 'Nvidia driver stopped responding and recovered'. I think this is because it is overheating.
Should the side fan be blowing onto the GPU or away from it?

Thanks for the help!

Ben

Hi Benish, and welcome to the forum :)

first thing, download gpu-z and run it (use google)
this will give you all the info about your gpu, inc. temps.
now run a game, but keep an eye on your temps, are they getting hot?

have you the latest driver for your gpu? and did you remove the older driver properly?

Have you plugged in all the power leads onto the gpu?

what is your gpu model?

also i have my side fan blowing onto my gpu

Yeah I would
1 Get MSI afterburner , that will let you see the temperatures and adjust the fan speed
2 Update to the latest drivers
3 check that your gpu fan is spinning and that it has not died on you

Thanks for the replies.
I have the Nivida Sparkle GTS 250 1GB, with the latest drivers and the fan is working!

I'm running Win7 64bit and with GPU-z temps reach around 58'C max when playing FSX and with other apps open on my 2nd screen.

When I had my gaming rig I set my fans so the front and side panel were intake, and rear and top exhaust for example.

Two 120mm Fans at the front drawing cold air through onto the hard disks through to the Ram, Motherboard and CPU heatsink. Then a 120mm Exhausting the air from the heatsinks aswell as a 200mm exhausting through the top of the case drawing all the hot air from components out. Finally the fan on the side blowing directly onto the graphics card which became toasty and also onto the Motherboard directly.

Paired up with a good CPU cooler my case was always at a average temperature even under load.

Oh and obviously crank the CPU and GPU fans up as you see fit as this will have an overall effect on the temps of your case for sure.

58.C on load, is fine, i wouldn't worry about that, :)
