Hi Guyz,

I am looking for a good CPU Cooler, as i am planning to extremely OverClock my CPU :D.

Currently i am thinking about Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer .

Plz tell , is this good option or any other cooler better than this?

Best Regards.

I have Xigmatek Red Scorpion with crossbow and managed Q6600 to 3.43GHz and max temp each core:
Core 1 71c
Core 2 72c
Core 3 67c
Core 4 67c

Average temp all 4 cores around 60c max

All i can say is that it's worth the money and quiet as well :D

recommended coolers

Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler
(£48.29)
Thermalright TRUE Black 120 CPU Cooler
(£40.24)
+ cost of 120mm fan (min 1 needed, max 2)
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler
(£26.44)

hmmm...

thanx for the List.
well i am bit confused here. plz. tell me why Sunbeam is rated best cooler in world OR i am misguided.

Have a look on THIS if you interested, it's the same technology as direct contact. if you decided to go with this one, make sure get crossbow as well for better cooling :)

Go for TR 120 Extreme or Noctua - both are very good choice.
I'm runing my CPU on Noctua NH-U12P - idle temperatures are 25-26 C degree and stress 49 C degree (CPU 4 GHz 1.26vcore).

If you want top performance nothing will touch a Lapped TRUE and two decent (1600RPM+) fans..

The heatsink you are looking at should work fine for the CPU you are looking at you will get good performance out of it.. the other heatsinks already suggested are also good..

Its a matter of deciding what you final goal is... i.e. pure performance or a mixture of price/performance or even silence/price/performance etc... If you just want a reasonable clock on the E8XXX then I would not look at a TRUE but at either the heatsink you have suggested or the Xigmatec (probably want to get the X mounting for it as well)... If you want some silence to then I would look at getting a aftermarket fan and speedcontrolling it... something like a sharkoon silent eagle 2000 which will give you performance when you need it but can be run day-to-day at 800RPM and silent...

If you want pure performance then a TRUE + 2 Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000... or maybe even a mid range 120mm Delta

I can't compare it directly to many other coolers but the Core Contact is a pretty decent cooler, the main problem that I had with it is that the fins are very pliable so some were slightly bent on arrival, however because they are so soft it is easy to bend them back into shape. You do get a tube of TX-2 in the box and it comes with a fan controller for it so it is quite good for the price.

//edit in fact I wrote a short review on it for Vortez so if you want a laugh, you can have a read. :)
