Hi I am looking for a new CPU cooler currently using a Arctic Cooling 64 ... good cooler but not the best. On silent mode full load 3.5Ghz getting 59C

I want somthing that is quite becuase atm i have a Antec P182 filled with Noctua 800RPM fans so my pc is difficult to hear :P.

I have been looking at the :

Coolermaster V8 - Looks good but noisey.
Noctua NH-U12P
Thermalright True Black 120 - Looks stunning :D
Tuniq tower 120.

EDIT : I just found Thermalright TRUE Copper for £70. Is it really that good?

Price isnt too much of a issue between them not sure which is the "best" though.

Personally I would go for either the TRUE or the Noctua. You won't be disappointed with either. They are very close in any tests I have seen.

Not sure, but I have a Noctua NF-P12 fan on mine and even at 3.6ghz (1.43v) it doesn't go over 69c Prime95 Small FFT's, and it's very quiet.

You might get away with passive if not running a quad and your case airflow is very good.

Oh, and the TRUE Copper is a limited edition and weighs a ton from what I've heard! I'd be green with envy if you got one, but also worried for the safety of the mobo... deffo not one for carting around to LAN parties!

lol have to build a frame in the case to support it :P

but my pc never moves anyway it already weighs like 18Kg ^^

I remember going to a 'Duke Nukem' LAN party when I was living in Bristol in the mid 90's and before TFT's... 4 People in a LADA (I know, I know) with towers between our legs and CRT's on our laps! Those were heavy times! (and yeah, I know the PC's were worth about 6 times what the car was):D

edit: oops, I mean computer towers between our legs of course!

I just got a TRUE black today......it needed a fair amount of lapping, base was pretty shocking tbh:( although i knew there was a good chance it would need it,from what i'd read:p

A fair few hours of work.........i am just about finished lapping it. Will get it in tomorrow. Hope it's worth the effort

So to the OP,beware, you may get a dodgy base,if you get the TRUE

this might seem like a strange idea but why splash that much when a sunbeam core contact freezer will probably do just as good a job, or if u dont like the name get the spire thermax 2which is exactly the same, they'll save you 10 to 15 quid and give good results. i mean my amd x4 9650 is being cooled by a sunbeam CCF and it idles around 24c and doesnt go above 35-37c core temp wise under load.

Looks good so far, what grade of grit did you go upto?

I have no idea but I suspect so as its a popular case on here.
If you own it, measure the case and then look up the size of the heatsink. If you dont own the case then check the sizes online.
