Hello, i am currently running a rx 9060 xt with a Ryzen 5 3600, i am looking to upgrade the CPU to get rid of the bottleneck, which one would suit best?
My motherboard is the msi tomahawk x570s and the cooler is Deepcool le720What is your motherboard? CPU cooler?
Yes i am running the PC for gaming and its at 1440p, thankyou for the suggestions. What resolution are you running at out of interest, and I assume this is just for games?
Regardless, you have two options really.
You can get the 5500X3D for around £150, but it might require you to import from a certain Chinese website, or alternatively you could get a cheap 5600 for £80-100 or under.
The 5500X3D will be much superior for gaming, especially at 1080-1440P.
Either should function fine with your existing HSF/motherboard if they're happy running a 3600 (you will potentially need to update your motherboard bios for either to work), although if you have a stock cooler on the 3600 it'd be worth spending a tenner or so on something like this:
My basket at OcUK:
Total: £15.98 (includes delivery: £3.99)
That said, are you certain you're bottlenecking/having problems related to your CPU? The 3600 isn't a terrible match for a 9060XT but I can certainly see situations where a faster CPU would benefit (moreso the X3D).
