This is probably asked every 3rd day, but what the best SIM only packages for iPad?

There appear to be some great deals for iPhone (unlimited data etc) but iPad versions appear to be restricted to 1gb /month.

I'm probably not a huge data user myself but with young kids, the ability to access cbeebies etc etc on the move would eat up small data allowances!

Thanks in advance

I read in the ovivo thread that data is a bit pants if this is the case wouldn't tethering off a mobile be better, probably the one plan off 3 or perhaps one of those shared data deals ee do.

I don't actually have a mobile - never mind a smartphone. Don't see a need for people to text or phone me 24/7 but do see the usefulness of t'internet access 24/7 :D

Fair enough, I didn’t get a mobile till I was 32 and we were expecting our first child and didn't get a smartphone till I was 45, most of my mates have one now but at least 30% haven't with a few who don't even have a mobile:D

You could just oreder a SIM only plan for a mobile phone but just stick the SIM into your iPad. Sure you wouldnt be able to use the minutes or texts but it probably wouldnt be that much more expensive than an iPad SIM only deal. You can compare all the UK's providers on http://www.comparisim.com
You might want to also look into getting 4G so your mobile internet is the same speed as the typical home broadband. Three give 4G away for free as standard with all their plans and Three's normal 3G internet is the UK's fastest because they use DC-HSDPA technology instead of HSPA or HSPA+ which is what all the other providers use

Can you actually do that?

Tried that trick with Three but it didn't work. As soon as I browsed the Internet, a Three page would open telling me that I couldn't use the SIM in a tablet.
