what defrag apps do you all use? from what ive heard O&O defrag and Diskeeper r the best, just wondering what ppl here think is most effective.

Raxco PerfectDisk, or go along to the Defrag/HDD Monitoring Software section, and use the contig/Power Defragmenter combination which for free works very well.

I use diskeeper but since I formatted ages ago each time I use it I get an error: MMC has detected an error in the snap-in. It is recommended that you shut down and restart MMC. - I just "ignore" the error and carry on and it works fine still. The version is quite old though, not updated in about 2 years (v8.0.459.0)
